Victoria Public School
2024-2025 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on inclusive play at recess.
We are doing this because a recent survey of students indicated that recess is the time where they are most likely to feel left out.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Develop student recess leaders;
- Provide organized, group activites at recess;
- Create recess activities that will foster inclusion and the development of peer relationships; following the PALS motto "There is always room for one more!"
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child about what they did at recess.
- Try a new school yard game at home with your child.
- Check out this resource from Middlesex-London Public Health Unit Outdoor Games that shares some great outdoor activities for students and families to play together.
